The Importance of Indoor Air Quality
Hello, I am pleased to welcome you to my Medium page dedicated to Indoor Air Quality.
My name is Dr. James Marsden, but my “nom de plume” on Medium is Dr. IAQ. I serve as the Executive Director of Science and Technology for RGF® Environmental Group. I oversee the development and implementation of technology designed to improve Indoor Air Quality (or IAQ for short — hence the pen name).
With four decades of studying and advancing Indoor Air Quality for the food industry, I join Medium to share the knowledge I have gained with readers at a period when attention is paid to the quality of our indoor air is at an all-time high.
This is not my first rodeo.
During my nearly 40-year career, I have had the opportunity to help solve some of the most challenging food safety issues, including leading the development of antimicrobial interventions to combat E. coli O157:H7 in raw ground beef and Listeria monocytogenes in food crops. Previously, I was the Executive Director of Food Safety at crowd-favorite Chipotle Mexican Grill, where I led the efforts that resulted in award-winning recognition for food safety and restaurant cleanliness. Other experience includes running my own company, Food Safety Systems, LLC, where we provided scientific and technical support to the food industry.
Knowledge is most powerful when shared.
Having authored several books, published numerous scientific articles and participated in countless speaking engagements, I have been honored to share my expertise in food safety and Indoor Air Quality. I have even had the distinction of being called upon by the White House and testifying in front of the United States Congress, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).
While at Kansas State University, I served as Associate Director of the National Agriculture Biosecurity Center in the Animal Sciences and Industry program.
My experience led me to RGF.
As Executive Director of Science and Technology at RGF Environmental Group, I am responsible for the continued technological validation and advancements of RGF technology in the air, food and water purification industries.
My professional life’s work has led me to this role with RGF, where I can leverage my expertise to improve people’s lives by providing tested and proven solutions that will enhance the Indoor Air Quality of restaurants, schools and businesses.
